Hampton Inn Charleston-Downtown

Very busy time of year to visit. Sports teams running the halls and circulating the morning breakfast. They were mostly respectful to other guest. However that and the busy highway less than 50ft from the building made for a restless night. The limited parking and foul "skunk" smell of a person near the building smoking was not an experience we hope to ever encounter again. The staff responded very fast, lively, and kept spirits up through the influx of heavy customer relations. Way to Go Team Hampton!!!

The team at this location was amazing! I chose this hotel due to its proximity to CAMC where my twin grandsons were born. The baby's parents live 40 minutes away, so I booked them a room the night before the boys were born. I discussed my needs with Rebecca and she accommodated my every request - a room with a lower bed so Mom-to-be could get in and out easily, a shower with a built in bench (she also included a shower chair to use after the shower), a non-slip shower mat, extra towels and extra pillows.

After enduring a challenging, all-night drive, our arrival at the Hampton Inn was met with an instant and profound sense of relief. The front desk staff immediately prioritized our exhaustion, graciously providing us with a room right away. Stepping into our accommodation, we were impressed by the exceptionally well-lit and immaculately clean environment, complete with amenities that were truly comfortable and restorative. However, the true highlight was the consistently outstanding service. Rebecca, in particular, transcended basic customer service expectations, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for by going significantly above and beyond the call of duty. Crucially, this high standard was the rule, not the exception; every other team member we encountered provided the exact same friendly, attentive, and non-transactional treatment. We would enthusiastically recommend this hotel to anyone and I would gladly stay again!

After losing power during single digit temperatures, we arrived at Hampton Inn after Midnight on a busy night with most of the hotel full and staff surely exhausted. We received a warm welcome and consistently excellent service throughout our stay. All staff were extremely friendly and offered us assistance in any way they could with extra waters, blankets, towels, pillows to help make our stay comfortable during this stressful time. We slept comfortably and enjoyed sizzling hot showers which were much needed. The free continental breakfast and hot coffee were also great. Highly recommend!

Stayed just one night but it was a pleasant experience. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Finding the entrance was a bit tricky with one way streets, expressway, bridges, all converging in the area but we got the hang of it. Nice breakfast. Would stay again.

The staff was extremely friendly, they even called the day of to see if we needed anything for our stay. The rooms were very clean, and comfortable. The showers 10/10 amazing water pressure and it STAYED hot. Would highly recommend!

Every team member we encountered was not only professional and attentive, but genuinely kind. It didn’t feel transactional, it felt like they were proud to make guests feel welcome. Whether it was the front desk anticipating our needs before we spoke, housekeeping leaving personal touches, or the concierge offering thoughtful local recommendations, every interaction reinforced that we were in expert hands. It’s rare to find a place where hospitality feels this natural. Our expectations were not just met, they were exceeded at every turn. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation and look forward to returning. A sincere thank you to the entire staff—you made our stay unforgettable.

The rooms were clean and smelled nice. They were aesthetically lit when we arrived at 10:13pm which was nice to be able to avoid stumbling in the dark. The service was lovely—we have allergies and Rebecca at the front desk was helpful with informing me what I could and could not have for breakfast. We also had some dirty water marks on our car, and when we asked if we could borrow cleaner they gave us a spray AND a nice microfiber cloth to use (they saved the day for my husband and for me since now I don’t have to hear him complain about it all day :)) If you are particular about where you stay because you’ve had some really BAD stays in the past—make this one of your safe stays <3
